In the tiny apartment with limited square footage, the loft bedroom is the obvious choice and the unrivalled king! It takes away the worry of having to create an additional room in an already limited area and you will not need any other internal partitions inside the apartment for rooms other than the bathroom. It is often the space above the tiny bathroom that can double as the bedroom alcove. It might not be super-glamorous or even spacious, but it gets the job done. You can get creative with the staircase leading to this loft bedroom and turn it into a storage area. Talk about maximizing space!
There’s nothing that brings elegance to your bedroom like an eye-catching headboard. If you take a DIY approach, you can get a decadent look on a budget. For example, creating a “headboard” by hanging curtains behind a platform bed will add height and interest to your space. You can also use wallpaper to create a faux headboard for your bed, adding just the right amount of drama! Another idea: using a folding partition (shown below). Details at Martha Stewart.
When it comes to space-savvy additions in the bedroom, bunk beds are a favorite among homeowners. This is ever truer in case of kids’ bedrooms where you often need to find ways in which you can create multiple environments within the same confines. Bunks beds come in a wide range of shapes and sizes and yes, you can always pick one up from the fancy furniture store near you. But we tend to favor the bespoke solutions route as it offers exactly what you need and does so without forcing you to overspend.
